We are saddened to learn of the death Dr. John George Packer, professor, scholar, and unparalleled author of Vascular Plants of Alberta.
Dr. Packer was Professor Emeritus in the Faculty of Science at the University of Alberta in Edmonton. For thirty years, he pursued his interests in the taxonomy of Arctic and Alpine plants. His legacy lives on in his work and his family.
