The University of Calgary Press Celebrates the Life of Bob Applebaum.
Bob Applebaum, a leading authority on international fisheries issues and co-author of Fishing for a Solution: Canada’s Fisheries Relations with the European Union, 1977-2013, published by the University of Calgary Press, passed away in Ottawa on March 14 after a brief illness. Director General of the International Affairs Directorate in Canada’s Department of Fisheries and Oceans from 1983 to 1995, Bob participated in numerous international negotiations ranging from the Law of the Sea to Canada-EU fisheries agreements. He will be missed by all who knew him and his work.
